Some People Need More Time. That Is Not a Setback.

Extended residential treatment at Top of the World Ranch is long-term, structured care for clients whose recovery requires more than a standard residential stay. The depth of the program is the same. The timeline is longer.

Recovery timelines are not the same for everyone. Some clients need additional time, structure, and clinical support to build stability at a deeper level. Extended care creates space for that process without rushing it.

Who This Is For

When Standard Residential Is Not Enough Time

Extended residential is for clients with complex, long-term addiction histories. People who have been through multiple treatment episodes and need a deeper level of immersion to build a durable foundation. People whose co-occurring mental health conditions require sustained clinical attention over a longer period before step-down is clinically appropriate.
This is not a last resort. It is a clinical decision made in partnership with the treatment team, based on what a particular person actually needs to give recovery a real chance.

Program Includes

Extended Care Built for Long-Term Recovery

Extended residential clients participate in the full clinical and experiential programming of the ranch over a longer timeline. EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy continue as core components of the program. The continuity of extended time on the property — with the same clinical team, the same structure, and the same land — is itself a therapeutic element.

Aftercare planning and continuing care coordination begin well in advance of discharge, ensuring that the transition out of extended care is intentional and supported.

EMDR & ART Remain Core Treatment

Clients continue trauma-focused therapy throughout their extended residential stay.

Same Team, Structure & Environment

Extended care allows deeper therapeutic work with consistent clinical support and daily structure.

Healing Beyond Traditional Therapy

Clients remain connected to the full ranch environment, experiential activities, and holistic programming.

Support Before the Transition Home

Aftercare coordination begins early to help create a stable and supported transition after treatment.
